the cabinet is not fully occupied, the hot air emitted from the back of the equipment will likely be drawn into the equipment again (as shown in left picture) due to the potential suction power from the front side of the same. Eventually, the equipments will be under insufficient cooling. Snap-in filler panel is then mounted for the purpose to avoid the mixing of cold and hot air.
